About Me


Markus Eisele
is a Java Champion, long-time community contributor, and one of the most recognized voices in the Enterprise Java ecosystem. He has been part of the Java EE Expert Group, co-founded JavaLand, and spoken at leading Java conferences and user groups around the world.

After many years at Red Hat, Markus is now with IBM Software, where he focuses on developer advocacy and research around Java, Quarkus, and AI-infused enterprise architectures. He is the author of Modern Java EE Design Patterns and Developing Reactive Microservices with O’Reilly, and more recently Applied AI for Developers.

Through his Substack publication The Main Thread, Markus helps architects and developers navigate modern enterprise challenges: containers, Kubernetes, cloud-native Java, and the integration of AI into business applications. His passion is educating developers about building resilient, scalable, and future-proof systems from microservices to agentic AI.
